I got my 13c baroque lute a few months back. I've been playing it, but also playing a little CG to play duets with my wife (recorder). Man, I'm not sure I agree with those (Roman Turovsky of Lute list fame) who claim that baroque lute is easier than renaissance (or cg). The reason being, I guess, simple left hand, a lot of open strings. But, boy, those sure are a lot of strings to keep straight, so to speak. CG seems like a relief afterwards. Steve, have any words of encouragement? BTW, I've been using the new method for baroque lute by Miguel Serdoura, available through the SFL. Far and away the best resource. --Jim
